This notice explains what data Give a Toss collects, how it is used, and your rights.
Privacy in plain language
We do not sell your data. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information—or any information you store with Give a Toss—to data brokers, advertisers, or other companies for their marketing, profiling, or resale.
Your account details, dashboard activity, and everything else you do not deliberately expose through the Service stay private to you (and, where the product allows it, people you collaborate with as part of using the Service). Information only becomes visible to wider visitors when you choose to make content visible (e.g. by listing a Patch on the public map, sharing a public Patch page, or using features that invite others to contribute). We still do not sell information in those cases; we only use it to operate the Service as described below.
What We Collect
- Account data - email address, hashed password, email verification status
- Patch data - name, description, category, location coordinates, display address, and photos you upload
- Issue reports - text content and optional photos submitted by visitors
- Operational logs - request logs retained briefly for debugging
How We Use It
We use your data solely to operate the Service: displaying Patches, routing issue reports to Keepers, and sending transactional emails (such as verification and report updates). We do not sell your data, license it to third parties for their own purposes, or use it for advertising.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function—for example to keep you signed in securely. We do not use analytics, advertising, or other optional tracking cookies.

Data Retention
Active account and Patch data is kept while your account exists. Soft-deleted Patches may be retained until manually purged.
Your Rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing hello@giveatoss.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
Changes
We will update this notice as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email.
